When I arrived in Buenos Aires I didn't speak a word of Spanish. In the first week of my course I was already in the street asking questions to people in the city. The first time was a little difficult, but gradually I start understanding more and more of what they told me. In the course, the balance between communication and class tasks was very interesting and helpful. I then continued my journey through Chile and Perú. I used the Spanish I had learned in hotels, restaurants and in conversations with cab drivers.
